Flamenco Shoes & Attire.

FLAMENCO SHOES.

Don’t have flamenco shoes? No worries!

Don’t let what to wear keep you off the dance floor. All are welcome!

However, for your own safety please read carefully the following requirements.

  • Make sure your shoes have a sturdy heel with a minimum heel height of 1.5″ and no higher than 2.5.”

  • Your safety is important to us. Sandals, open-toed shoes, stilettos, platforms, or wedge heels will not be permitted.

DANCE ATTIRE.

Women:

  • SKIRT:  Part of flamenco dance is learning how to use your skirt. In flamenco class, we use a “practice skirt”. If you’re just starting out, for now, wear any skirt you might have in your closet that has some fullness to it. Practice skirts are easy to buy online, offers ready-to-wear sizes, and easy on the pocket book, too. Check out the recommend stores in the “Where to Buy”.

  • TOPS:  Basically, workout tops (and leggings) are great. Just so long as it’s an easy, movement-friendly top. Long sleeves are best so that you can see your lines, but not a requirement. You can wear the skirt over the leggings, which is common practice.

Men:

  • Easy, movement-friendly trousers, buttoned-down shirt. If you’re just starting out wear boots or leather soled shoes with minimum 1.5″ heels. Otherwise, please wear your flamenco boots and shoes to class.
